This show is for people who love Classic and Progressive Rock. Help to support the station and the music by following us on MixCloud and joining us on Facebook. This show is for people who love Classic and Progressive Rock. Tracks from Jethro Tull, Uli Jon Roth, Soft Machine, It Bites & Rob Halford.

We kick off the show with a band headed up by legendary guitarist Uli Jon Roth. The band is Electric Sun and the track we play is Electric Sun off the Earthquake album released in 1979. Roth is probably best known as the pre Schenker guitarist with the Scorpions. He played on many classics including Fly to the Rainbow (1974), In Trance (1975), Virgin Killer (1976), Taken by Force (1977), and of course the great live album Tokyo Tapes (live recording, 1978).

I also play a track from Soft Machine which featured the incredible guitar work of Allan Holdsworth. The track on this show was Hazard Profile Part One from the album Bundles. The guitar work on this track is incredible as is the album. The whole idea of the show is to remind us of some of the great music produced by these incredible artists. No matter what year or what part of the world that come from. Classic and progressive rock music encompasses so many styles and genres that is needs to survive time, especially in a world of downloads and instant gratification.

I know that there will be loads of track you will know and love, so remind yourself why you love them. There will also be tracks that may have passed you by and this show is a great chance to get acquainted with music that could be new to you..
