Ravine is the second track on side four of the album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway and is a beautiful but short instrumental. This is part of a series where we examine the relationship between the lyrics and the story Peter Gabriel wrote in the inner gatefold of the album. This is obviously an instrumental and only has a small entry in the story that Peter wrote. It sits between The Colony of Slippermen and the track The Light Dies Down on Broadway.
He follows a small path running along the top, and watches the tube bobbing up and down in the water as the fast current carries it away.
TRACK - Ravine
This instrumental is a wonderful interplay between the guitar of Steve hackett and the keyboards and atmospherics of Tony Banks and lead in beautifully to The Light Dies Down On Broadway. Genesis elongated this little interplay when they performed the whole album live.
